care tips for all skin types
Every time you turn on the television or even open a
magazine you will see a huge selection of different
advertisements and commercials about facial skin care products
and tips. The media gives you advice on what products to use,
how to make your skin look picture perfect and even how it
should look. The only problem with listening to all of these
advertisements is that they are not always accurate, and the
products they tell you to buy don’t always do what’s best for
your skin. Every product and treatments work differently on
every person and every ones skin care routine is and should
vary from others depending on their skin type. Below are some
facial skin care tips that are designed for all types of skin
(normal/combination, oily and dry) nd the problems you might
stumble across.
Dry Skin
Care
The most important facial skin care tip that you should
always take into consideration if you are someone who suffers
from dry skin, is to always moisturize and keep your body
hydrated. The importance of this aspect cannot be stressed
enough. If your skin is usually exposed to the elements such as
windy, cold or any other harsh weather then you will probably
want to find a moisturizer that has higher oil content in it.
This will help protect your skin from the elements and also
moisturize. You also need to make sure you are drinking plenty
of water. There is a recommended amount of at least eight
glasses of water to be consumed daily. You can also try adding
a little bit of olive oil to your bathwater to moisturize your
entire body. One of the most important things when trying to
treat dry skin is to try and avoid smoking, as well as
consuming large amounts of alcohol or caffeine.
Oily Skin
Care
When you suffer from oily skin, the main thing you want to
focus on is removing the excess oil and dirt and minimizing
your pores. You want to try and exfoliate you skin at least
twice a week and maybe even try three times a week to remove
any dirt or bacteria from clogging your pores so your skin has
a chance to breathe better. You also want to use a toner. When
you have really oily skin you want to lean more towards an
astringent since they focus mostly on closing your pores and
minimizing them in general. Another useful, but simple trick to
try is to keep a bowl of water in your fridge and splash your
face with the cold water throughout the day.
Combination Skin
Care
Normal/combination skin can sometimes be tricky to deal
with, since you want to wash and cleanse it, but want to avoid
either drying it out or over moisturizing. You need to find a
balance in between that works for you. One facial skin care tip
is to use harsher products like astringents or certain
cleansers on area only affected by pimples. Try to exfoliate
about twice a week, anymore than that will dry out your skin
too much, and any less may cause oil and dirt to build up.
Blemishes
If you tend to suffer from blemishes then you should first
try to avoid wearing large amounts of make-up in order to try
and cover it up. This only worsens the problem. You need to
keep your skin clean so your pores are able to breathe. Once
again, try to avoid alcohol, caffeine, nicotine or any other
toxin that isn’t necessarily good for your body.
No matter what type of skin you have, there are facial skin
care tips out there that can help you. Little details like
knowing what kind of cleanser or toner to use for your skin can
make the biggest difference when it comes to seeing results and
looking your best.
