Facial Skin Care for
Every Season
Facial skin care is imperative throughout the entire year,
you may have to make slight changes in your routine to
accommodate the season. Because the elements of weather all
year round can have very harsh effects on your skin. But
following proper skin care year round is actually pretty simple
if you know how. Here are some basic tips to keep in mind for
each of the seasons.
Spring
As the weather is starting to warm up, many people are
excited to be go outside and enjoy some time in the sun. Since
your skin has become used to the colder weather and not as much
sun it is very important that you remember to apply some form
of sunscreen. And since in warmer weather you can get away with
wearing foundations that are a little bit lighter and not as
thick as in the winter, you might want to try a foundation that
has SPF mixed in with it already.
Summer
The most important thing while going into the months of
summer is to make to always avoid getting sunburned. When
spending a lot of time out in the sun without wearing some form
of skin protecting agent you are only taking chances of
permanently damaging your skin and speeding up the aging
process. If you are one of the many people that like being tan,
but don’t want your skin sustaining the permanent damage the
sun and its harmful rays then try out one of the many new spray
tans available. Another very important thing to do during
summer is exfoliating. It removes dry dull looking skin while
also opening up your pores to allow it to breathe easier during
the hotter weather.
Fall
During the cooling down of the weather and preparing for
winter it is very important that you are remembering to
increase your consumption of water, and even herbal tea, to
make sure your skin is moisturized and ready for the cold,
harsh weather about to come. The majority of your facial skin
care routine should be built around this aspect. Also try to
avoid taking long, hot baths or showers, although this may be
tempting as the weather is starting to get cold, this only drys
out your skin even more. If you insist on enjoying either of
these anyways then dry adding a small amount jojoba or sweet
almond oil to the water, use moisturizing body washes and to
refrain from using any products that are high in alcohol
content.
Winter
During the winter months of the year it is the most
important thing to make sure your skin is very moisturized. You
should always apply a moisturizer at least half an hour before
going outside to help protect it against the cold windy
weather. You might also want to consider switching to an oil
based moisturizer as part of your facial skin care routine. The
more oil your product contains the more it help prevent damage
from the elements. The cold wind combined with artificial
heating inside is an awful combination that will lead to dry,
even cracked skin.
Adjusting your facial skin care products to suit each season
of the year will keep your skin looking great throughout the
entire year. Just always take into consideration how your skin
changes with the weather.
